About the Role

As a Project Coordinator/Manager you will have the opportunity to oversee water and sewage treatment projects from the initial tender submission right through to commission stages. Utilising your skills and knowledge to assist other members of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction team, you will work closely with Draftspersons, Engineers and Workshop teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet client expectations.

The successful candidate will either currently reside in Mackay or be willing to relocate and will have the opportunity to develop and grow among a team of experienced Engineers and associated Professionals.

Role Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the combined Engineering, Project and Workshop team functions for client tenders and projects
  • Review Customer needs including Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and other such requirements
  • Aid in the development of conceptual designs including technical specifications
  • Administer select contracts assigned or won including sourcing, procurement qualification, scheduling, design and detail, attend site progress and assessment meetings, prepare progress claims, costing and reporting
  • Manage Quality documentation including Quality Plans, Inspection and Testing procedures and inspection methods as required by the Contract
  • Oversee construction, inspect work including sub contracted product and services when necessary / required
  • Aid with, or conduct, on-site project commissioning and staff training as per product / engineering specifications
  • Provide exceptional customer service experiences by consistently supporting internal and external Client expectations
  • Aid the drafting staff to ensure required piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s), layouts and all necessary drawings are correct and to a satisfactory standard before submission
  • Develop and maintain skills, technical and product knowledge.
  • Adhere to strict manual handling, safety standards, corporate work procedures and policies.


  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in Project Management
  • Experience in either civil, construction and / or mining industries
  • Experience with Microsoft Projects Scheduling or Similar
  • Be able to work away from home (accommodation and meals provided)
  • Be computer literate with an IT capability including Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Hold a current manual Driver’s Licence (MR Licence an advantage)
  • Be willing to undertake a pre-employment medical and random drug and alcohol testing
  • Be legally permitted to work in Australia


  • Experience in the pumping and water treatment industry with knowledge of any of the following will be an advantage
    • Pumps and pumping equipment
    • Pipes, valves and fittings
    • Water treatment and filtration equipment
